Overview

In April 2014, IDR purchased the Eastern Star project from Premium Exploration Inc. The property consists of 11 patented mining claims and 71 unpatented mineral claims near Elk City, Idaho. Historic mining on the Eastern Star property includes the Alberta shaft, which was sunk to a depth of 100 feet and drifting occurred on two parallel veins. The Elk City Mining District is an historic gold mining region dating back to the 1860s that once supported more than 20 mines, including the Eastern Star, along with placer dredging operations. Total historic production for the Elk City Mining District is estimated to be approximately 895,000 ounces of gold, mostly from placer dredging operations. Modern exploration in the district by companies including Cypress-Amax, Kinross Gold, and Bema Gold has focused on near-surface bulk tonnage potential, while the many of the high-grade underground gold targets have largely been ignored.

Sampling

After acquiring the property, IDR completed initial mapping and sampling programs. Company geologists identified several veins that had been historically prospected with small pits and shafts. Surface samples from these veins confirmed widespread presence of high-grade gold within mineralized quartz, as seen in the results below:

# of Samples Area Gold Grade (gpt)
1 Eastern Star 68.9
1 Eastern Star 53.8
5 Eastern Star 17
1 Eastern Star 12.3
12 Eastern Star 5.5

Phase 1 Drill Program - 2025

Idaho Strategic is planning to complete its phase 1 drill program at Eastern Star in 2025. This drill program will be the first modern program designed to test for narrow, high-grade underground vein structures. It is estimated that the company will drill approximately 2,200 meters from a variety of different drill pads spread across the property. Phase 1 drilling is anticipated to help design follow-on programs in the future.
